Am I (Enough) a FORCE FOR GOOD?

As my two daughters moved out for their studies and 2024 presented its own set of challenges – from a harsher societal tone and the climate crisis to a struggling economy and global uncertainties last year I found myself asking a simple question: Am I (enough) a force for good?
The answer was that I could do definitely better and so finally I took action in a variety of fields:

1️⃣ Amplifying Positivity on LinkedIn
I decided to shift from a passive presence on LinkedIn to a more active one. Before last Christmas, I started posting articles that highlight positive change, aiming to inspire others while shedding light on the good that’s happening.

2️⃣ Volunteering Locally
I began lending my time to various local organizations – supporting the management of our Community Grocery Store, for example. This hands-on involvement has allowed me to connect with very motivated people and see the direct impact of community support.

3️⃣ Engaging in Local Politics
Concerned by the rise of anti-democratic voices, I joined a party from the democratic spectrum. Now, as a local party board member, I support municipal initiatives that prioritize transparency, citizen engagement, and real results.

4️⃣ Mentoring Young Professionals
Professionally, I started to offer pro bono coaching sessions to very young professionals. These sessions are a rewarding way to share experience and help guide the next generation.

Every step I have taken has enriched my life – not as a sacrifice, but as an investment in positive change. I truly believe that each small action creates a ripple effect that benefits our communities.

Now, I have a call to you:
Spend an hour or so in the next few days reflecting on your contributions. Ask yourself: Am I (enough) a force for good? Forget “ I could”, “I should”, or “I might”. Instead, decide on one concrete action you can take right now – and do it.
Let’s join together and create a ripple effect of positive change.
Do It NOW!
